Fuel Pump not working Help

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Kev946, Nov 30, 2014.

  1. So after I overcome the seized engine problem I refitted the engine and it turned over nicely but no fuel. I've even tried reversing the pipes in case I got them wrong. The pump is defo getting fuel so assume the diagram inside is perished.

I think it's a pierburg. Type 4 engine next to the bell housing. What's my options? Does anyone sell a rebuild kit?

    Cheers
    Kev

  9. It was forged in the volcanic fires of Mordor and carried by the Giant Eagles across the Shire to the Port of Angheltarn where it was transported in a Golden Casket lined with the fur of the Sacred Mole's scrotum, across the mighty sea of tranquility, where there be Dragons and other vicious creatures like wives and girlfriends.
Once docked in Byzantium an Albino Dwarf mounted on a Unicorn accompanied by an army of 70000 Scottish Lemmings carried it to a Mythical place called Erith whereupon a 200% markup was added plus a further 50% "Scene tax".
And this my friends is how all NLA parts are priced. ;)

Dont be daft - it's obviously a Westfalia. pump, thus the price of a small planet.

I suspect it's actually made of Jesus Christ.

  14. But back to the fuel pump, are you sure you have the correct push rod in it. (if it's mechanical). I've used the wrong rod in a rebuild and near drove myself crazy chasing everything but that? If you use the wrong rod, it dones not move the pump enough to move the fuel! enough said!

  15. Think I'm going to install an electric one

  16. There is only one pushrod for type 4 engines. AFAIK.

  17. Not just any unobtanium, but rare military grade unobtanium.

...or as @Moons suggests, Westfalia unobtanium?
