I;ve got twin Dells on mine and just fed the oil breather and tank breather pipes to the outside world via filters but outside of the engine bay. It sounds like i should run them in to the carb filters. I was worried that i might get oily gunge in one carb or fuel rich fumes in one carb etc. Also i thought that i might even suck neat fuel up the breather pipe. Not sure if this is possible.

So they say, for the -ve crankcase pressure, but if it's not leaking...

Dangling your oil breather under the van and depositing oil on the road is frowwned upon in this day and age. Techically illegal even I believe?

Not that you're on your own there with the original T1's having a drip tube down to the road, but this did have a clever rubber valve on the end so the carb couldn't suck through it, thus maintaining the crankcase -ve pressuse. Perhaps the way the rubber valve worked along with the carb sucking meant it waited until you got home and switched off, then dribbled the contents of the down tube onto your drive.

T4's don't have the down-tube though so perhaps rely on oil dribbling back down the breather pipe back into the engine.

    * Most of this post I made up but I bet I'm not far out. :D

It works (most of the time)

Since getting it i have planed to sort it all out but other things just keep breaking or i go camping

I was loath to tidy mine originally.
