Front upper torsion arm removal question

  1. OK Gents,
I have removed the spindle, and removed the grub screws (Both Sides). The upper arms are sitting on the upper bumpstops. How do I remove them now? Am I missing something? They won't come off!

  2. rubber stops still fitted??

if they are, ideally you need to remove them :)

  3. Paul Weeding , Thanks, So what you are saying is that little rubber bumpstop is all that is in the way of fully unloading the pressure on the torsion leaves?!

No, but the arm sticks to the rubber. Either jack up the arm enough to get the stop out, or persevere. You'll need to lump it out either way. With the stop on, barring the arm up helps.

  5. So then how are you supposed to get them back together? I guess it's just a pain in the arse?!

the arms aren't to diffecult to lever up a little, if you can get the bump stop off it will make it easier, you can get the bump stop back on easy when the van is on the ground, if you cant get the arm out just tap it with the hammer it will come off

  7. Thanks! I will be doing this tomorrow!
