Front seat hinge/pivot snapped

Hi,

I was just wondering if its common for the front seats where it pivots on the bottom to snap, Its the bar that connects to these. Both sides of the bar have broken away

 

I know which bar you mean but never really read about one snapping....seat bases do get a bit flakey with age...maybe the previous owner had a penchant for cakes

 

Or have you been bouncing on the seat more than necessary??

 

Perhaps previous owners have been heavy handed with it mate ? is the metal it was attached to ok ish?

 

Seat frames often snap, they're quite weedy, but easy to mend, apart from removing and refitting the covers of course...
