Have you had any friendly deeds lately ?.

my neighbour just saw me struggling with a heavy item ,he came out and brought a wheelbarrow to help me get it down my drive , not a massive friendly deed , but it restores yer faith in people .

Have you had any unexpected help or good deeds recently ?.

  5. I ironed Matt's work trousers for him this morning ... does that count?!?!

I am also in the process of knitting some of the woollen hats that you see on the innocent drinks pre x-mas that raise money for Age UK each year ... I suspect that is a better good deed! They are aiming for 650,000 hats this year ... don't think I can manage that many!

yes , yes , yes , all these domestic nicetys are all well n good and are truly gynormous efforts considering the limitations of the marriage contract ( wheres i shall not iron skidders or turn the tele over in that ehh ?) you are martyrs !.
but we need truly unsolicited deeds from strangers and the like to qualify as a bone fide friendly deed . tut tut you two ;)

I've not had any deeds done. I did tell a BMW owner a few weeks ago that they left their lights on. Does that count as giving a deed??

Alright , alright you martyrs , here's a deed that will get you on the right lines -

in 1986 i was driving my truck at the top of scotland , it was snowing and i missed my turning on a country road , it had wide verges so i simply swung onto the verge to turn my artic around and promptly sank up to my cab step, now it was getting dark and it was in the middle of nowhere and i was stuck well n truly , i noticed a light in a crofters cottage about a half mile away and walked to it to ask if they had a phone .

A little old man answered the door , he was in his nightgear ready for bed , i told him my predicament and he pointed to a jcb parked in his drive , " i'm nay comin oot at this time o night " he said and handed me the keys saying there was a chain in the bucket .

i set off back to my truck diving the jcb , when i got there i attached the chain to the back of the trailer and pulled , no good she was stuck fast , suddenly the little old man appeared by my side and said " you get in laddie and reverse her and i will pull yer " , i did this and we soon had her out , i went to my cab to get him some money for his efforts but when i turned round he was off in his jcb , gave me a friendly wave and notioned for me to keep my money and get going !!.

    i truly was grateful .

  16. I spent an entire day at work and smiled at children all day, mind you it's the first day back for the little darlings, and tomorrow may be a whole different ball game

  17. I helped out an elderly group of people on a day trip to Felixstowe. We parked up next to them at Landguard viewpoint. They had been there all morning with the windows down, the radio on and the blower on. No surprise their battery was dead. He couldn't figure out the why the stater was just clicking. The RAC told them it would be 3 hours before they could get to them and itt was baking hot and no shade. So I drove from Landguard fort into Felixstowe, bought some jump leads then drove all the way back and gave them a boost. He gave me a fiver as thanks.
