The new quali was OK until Q3 - they don't need to have the tailend elimination when there's only 8 left

Although I haven't seen this mornings Quali first hand, the idea of longer Q1 + Q2 with elimination followed by a 5 min Q3 with 1 shot at pole appeals to me!

There's a bit in the beeb where the team bosses apprarently dismissed a reverse grid in favour of the elimination format, which I would have expected from them. But there is also a brief quote from Bernie where he says he would like to add tenths to the Q3 cars in respect of the previous races results... whilst this may be arbitrarily shaking up the pot, I think it has some mileage and is likely to be the only thing to get the mercs off the top spots.

The decline of F1 has been so vastly discussed over the past few years... surely it's about time to withdraw the democratic rule making process and hand it over to a small group not allied to the best interest of the teams!?

Restart away then. Hamilton has an alarm going off but his engineer can't tell him what it is, I understand why they have brought the rules in but I think he should be able to tell him what the problem is
