  1. there's only one way to find out.....@AndyC?

I reckon a fortnight's worth would cost about the same as a decent Rab Down jacket...:D

Having had both, the t1 provided more hot air, maybe that's why they added the aux fan.

  3. I'm surprised....

Me too and disappointed! I'm glad i added the noisy bilge blower for a quick blast when I've had a ciggie with the 1/4light open. The heat is ok but I had to turn the T1 down when it was much colder outside.

  6. That is why I am planning a "gasit" type refillable tank under mine!

  7. Chart is for constant use. Would need to be cold and draughty for that but its not an issue for me to be honest as my van heating works ok. I could always leave it on all the time whilst driving as it would just switch off when the whole bus was warm enough.

I used to have a switch on my dash to switch the heater on and off independently of the stat but the new one is different. I think ive sussed out how to switch it from the front but the heater would need to be switched on in the rear. Youd in effect switch it off from the front. Havent tried it yet but I do have an eberspacher timer that would do the job as it has a boost button on it, would need to interface using a relay but its doable, would also allow me to use it as a timer (why ive no idea but would be useful if it was my daily)

My stat has two connections to supply 12v to switch the heater. One is through the thermostat and one bypasses it.

  9. Thanks for the guidance. Over and out.

  10. Where is it going? Not been that enthused about them before but it makes sense to me now. Im also looking at a water tank too which ive always steered away from.

  13. Why????

  14. It will probably have to be on near side where you have put your Propex. But that does mean cutting out the side pan.
I was hoping if I can keep the Propex far enough forward that I could fit it transversely behind but the distance between the chassis rails means it would have to be a shorter and therefore fatter. I will do accurate measurements once my Propex is sorted but I think it will sit too low and be vulnerable to grounding (even with my stock ride height). The other problem with being across the centre is that if I want to revert back to stock heating I will have problems.

  15. Stock heater packed up?

  16. So he should take the advice from here and fix his stock heater... What a numb nuts!!

  17. I think the measurement from the bottom of the top hats to the underside of the chssis rail is about 12 cms a 200 tank would obviously be lower but would fit lengthways between the rails. Not sure whether the valves, controls etc can be mounted remotely but that would be sensible if its possible.

  18. Thinking ahead, I have a quick question on the gas side of things.
As has been said Propex like a solid 8mm pipe going in. They also recommend a gas pressure test point is fitted to the inlet. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it?
Also thinking ahead for when I have underslung tank - what is normal set up ...... Pipe up through floor into kitchen cupboard manifold with shut off valves then back through floor to Propex and BBQ point? Using bulkhead fittings or pipe straight through a grommet ?
    Many thanks.

  19. Good question. Ive bought a bulkhead fitting but might not use it as its another couple of joints that could leak. Was hoping to but thI n again im not fitting a tank as yet. Will see.

Ive no intention of fitting a test point and dont even know what that would consist of . Barbeque point is a good addition. I want one on the outside too but not sure where it will go. Thinking to front of slider as thats where id use my cooker i guess.

  20. Yes, although I would take the BBQ point off outside of the van (obviously after the regulator)
