Does the HFF203 have 17 and 19mm female threads?
For what it worth I use a HFF204, but that has 8mm tails to suite my fuel hoses.
Note if you go for a HFF201 the pic shows a metal filter and the size is correct for 5.6mm hose but inside the box is a plastic filter.

  2. I saw that when checking other boxes to see if anything was suitable.

This one looks a better option https://www.inlinefilters.co.uk/Filters-Fuel/Inline/Metal/FBW-BF833K2

Ive had a look for the condensers and i am please to say that they are in fact in place, i think that will be a big bonus for the rest of the system , looks like i need some straight piping , a t joint and an education on how it fits my air filter. i think i may have enough of the "rubber"fuel hose left from the replacement, , so if i can get the required parts i should do it asap .
There's a suggestion that good quality copper / nickel brake pipe can be used for the metal pipe that i have missing or is that a no no . also a suitable T- joint .

  7. Interesting, I couldn't find any in my local Halfords like that.

There arent many that colour, covered in soot from the fire that happened below it...

Well Halfords is going the way of Maplins and only really selling plastic junk and bikes.

Items that arent bought by yer modern Astra GT owner like fluffy dice , LEDs to glue on and rubbish sound systems are being kept while fuel hose and filters are quietly being dropped..
The filter is still listed online.

  9. Yeah, I saw it was listed and in stock at my local Halfords, but a filter with 17 and 19mm female threads on it is no use, HFF201 would fit but is plastic, unfortunately Halfords use the same photo for different filters

  10. right a lot of info in this thread now. ive owned my van for a week. and now im an expert in perishable rubbers.
im looking at the kit for ease but it sounds like i need better clips.
also mine is a 2l twin carb. there are several options about fuel and carburettor pipe sizes. how do i identify these?
do i really need to do the fuel breather system too? or is that a nice to have?

  11. That kit isn’t good value for money. You can get Gates hose off the reel at your local motor factors for less. The knuifer pipe thing is a joke. You should have - on a type 1 at least - a length of steel pipe running through the tinware to the fuel pump (almost). The EMPI one is fine. There should also be a rubber grommet through the tinware to stop the pipe chafing. Again, on a type 1, unsure of type 4s.
