Finally gone and done it!

How long have you owned the van as I noted you said it was in a garage for a month. Did it need some work done already?

great advice I want to do the work myself eventually but need to do a serious amount of gening up first! It has just had all fuel hoses replaced so will keep an eye out for seepage?

 

You'll be able to smell it if it's the breathers. Worth checking as they were all missing on mine.

picked it up on Sunday! Had a recon engine fitted , ignition and brake overhaul

Yep! When that bloke died just before xmas and I told his wife to look on the positive side as she hadn't got him a card and present thus saving a her considerable amount they never asked me back

You should have spoke to me first. I'd have told you what a BOS these vans are and told you to get a T5...

 

Sounds like a great weekend unfortunately the misses has already told me I need to take her abroad that week

 

Ask away on here, you are sure of lots of help and mostly positive, even the advice to get a T5 is positive. Make no mistake, the T2 is a mean machine and they always have issues. I have had my share and they keep coming.

I am well retired now and bought mine to keep me out of trouble. I can do most things on it. There are very few garages out there who know or want to know about these vans.

There are some excellent manuals out there, Bentley is very good but I got some Restoration manuals as well which have colour pics and loads of info and make a good read and they cover bodywork, tools and paint and interior fitting.

You have had a new engine and new fuel hoses, so check them out.
