But you have to put up with a non stock design on a T4, like @Zed's Vintage Speed complete with loose metal piece inside it..

  3. Contact who supplied it they may just send you another tailpipe out.

    That was 2 x type-1 exhausts actually. ;)
The type-4 VS exhausts are nice and properly designed internally, not just chucked together to look like an exhaust. :)
Ref the tail pipe pointing up it seems to be a cheap kit thing. If you bought an Ernst it would be straight.

  5. The one I fitted has the tailpipe angled up slightly too but it's certainly not been a problem with collecting water. It's not at such an angle that rain can really get in plus it's tucked under the bumper anyway. I wouldn't worry about it:thumbsup:

    ‘Rattley’…

  7. I finally got round to fitting my new silencer. I've not replaced the tail pipe as it's got years of life left in it, but it took me some time to make it fit. The three holes just didn't quite line up. Some Dremel work to open up the holes has sorted it. Type 1 beetle exhausts used to be far worse in the 70's.
