Easy tiger! I only said "sounds like grub screws" because from your description, they do. No snottyness intended. I only asked for the eBay link because I may be interested in getting some for my engine build, if they are the proper job.

 

They are grub screws .... if there the ones by volksbolts ? which in itself is fine but not really what i was after .....i`m going to make my own i think

 

I like the idea of the Allen head in the end. If you round off the nut or strip the thread you could still wind the whole lot out of the head. Easy enough to spark in.

 

you`d have to go quite deep tho as stainless would want to round the hex off .

 

surely a man of your means can make these studs to exactly what you want no? i used to bash pump casing studs out by the hundreds ,n as you say you can spark the hex in ?

 

Means yes. Time no.
Probably better just using copper nuts than trying to get fancy with it.
