Ok... so after some serious deliberation on what kind of heater i'd like in the crossover (propex, diesel erberspacher, cheap chinese heater) i've decided on a BN4 petrol heater as i didn't want a smelly diesel tank anywhere near me. Anyway i've bought aforementioned heater from VZI untested (hopefully works/may be another thread there) so my question is has anyone fitted one of these under there bus? or do they have to go in the usual spare battery area in the engine bay? Any advice would be splendiferus thanks
Looking at how low your bus is in your avatar I'm guessing it would be best in the engine bay. Zed had a thread going on this somewhere and I think he put it in the area the spare wheel well was before he cut it out!
It's not as low as it looks got about a 3 inch lift on air shocks but certainly not stock height! I cant seem to find any info on whether these heaters are weather proof deffinately don't want to be cutting wheel well out
I put mine in a metal box under my bus between the chassis rails. But it's a T4 I have now. This guy on the T4 forum never protected his Eber that was slung underneath and seems content
I fitted a propex 12 months ago and its been fine..apart from ...... A flat leisure battery , running out of gas .. All my doing The propex.has been great...do not trust those Chinese ones...too many issues
Not sure @davidoft i think most of it is there don't think it's got thermostat though believe your the parts man though
lBelieve me..its worth it If its too much to stump up front...take the opportunity of JK.interest free... As I said I have been watching the Chinese heaters...some are happy...some are not...various issues....blah blah..blah... Very few if no issues with propex.....
Sorry , re-read your posts..as I understand, you have an eberspacher... That's cool...they do what they're supposed to do...ask @1973daisey ...he's a true advocate .. If anyone's starting from scratch ...propex is the easiest way forward ..
These seem to be a viable option..if I hadn't have gone the propex option i may have dabbled....BUT I Still maintain prop ex Is the best option
