Start and drive. It won't really warm up just sitting there.

  3. I have to have a fag and let the choke come off or it drives like a bag of bottom droppings

  4. I don't have a choke... I have to wait for the heads to warm up first

  5. Get in and drive is the normal procedure.

  6. my dwiesel audi hates driving when cold,
it has to get up a steep hill from home and its worse than an old tranny if its cold... :p

a few mins on the drive warming up and its a different beast..

ive always thought a few mins warming the oil and letting things expand before puttin engines under load is a good thing..
    thats what i do... :)

if it's real cold my van needs a bit for the transmission (auto) to warm up... serious, it seems you have to rev the tits off it to pull away if you try when it's cold, a few minutes ticking over and it's fine.

What are chokes? None in mine so I just wait until it ticks over and then I off

  9. I might pull my chokes out, I am having a few issues with my sparks coking up with soot. It may be something wrong with the main jets (although my dad said they had been rebuilt)

  10. drive off straight away for me. I think my choke goes off a little too quickly and I have no warm air preheat, theres a period in cold weather a few minutes after startup and until I've gone a few miles when the engine will die when stopping at junctions and traffic lights, I slow down to about walking pace with the brake then put my foot back on the accelerator can come to a halt using the handbrake.

Well that was a struggle. Didn't want to start but in end fired to life

  14. I always let any vehicle tick over for a little while before driving, just to let the oil get to where it's needed.
