  1. Thanks for that, will check tomorrow

  2. How's it going?

  3. Fine so far. Done 370 miles. Gears are a bugger tho :( gonna have to look at them...

Your gears will probably benefit from the standard bush replacement at the front and checking over the shift coupler at the back. Tighten the bolt after checking the coupler for wear and the collar coming loose from the cage.

  5. Thanks. Wish that made sense ;)
They were pretty good before the new engine was fitted, could that be the cause (they say they don't touch gears...)

  6. did they fit new clutch plates or just put old one back on, may just need adjusting:thinking:

  7. Didn't touch the clutch as far as I'm aware.....do they have to mess with the clutch when fitting engine?

  8. Check the free play in the clutch pedal. sounds like it needs adjusting as they will have replaced the clutch assembly when fitting the engine. If they have fitted a new spinning plate it will probably need adjusting by turning the butterfly nut. Easy job but check your manual.

    This.
Easy enough to adjust the clutch cable.

  10. Thanks both

  11. Yeah, sorry been a bit idle here haven't I??
We did have the gears looked at when we had the oil change done and had the front bush replaced. It was basically in two bits, no wonder we struggled. Gears are now a dream. Engine running very well too (fingers crossed), MOT recently passed.
We've not managed to get out for a proper trip yet, just too busy. So we've had the odd day out but have done about 800 miles, no problem. He starts first turn of the key :)
Planning a trip to Scotland in August double smiley face
