Engine rebuild 1975 2.0l auto

  1. gotcha, all makes sense, think its going to be a stock rebuild, possibly 96mm pistons/barrels as little price difference and its not a massive mod but no major upgrades, as well as that by the time its all rebuilt and done it will be better anyway.

  2. You'll have to stay with 94s for the FI... or you'll mess it up and cook the engine

    The FI is very basic, it works on air flow, and increasing the CC will increase the airflow, but you'll max out the system early and potentially end up running lean at the upper RPM

  3. thanks Paul and everyone, good advice taken onboard, my best bet is to keep stock with this which is fine, will save me a few headaches.

    thanks again, i'm clea rin my head where I am going with it. Engine should be out in a few days and I'll have a chance to see what went wrong,

    Im sure I read somewhere that an 003 is good up to 300 bhp(or was that the 010) they put that box in all sorts of cars back in the day. The box changes when the engine is under load nothing to do with the speed, the vacuum modulator is adjustable also.
