Just had a thought, I refurbed a lot of the tin wear and the shroud. Some of it I replaced with bits I had salvaged from a 2.0 that I bought with the intention of overhauling. I may have the old shroud in my shed.

I've found out the puissance fiscale now so I don't need to send the engine number - should be OK unless they compare the 1.7 the VIN suggests with the 1.8 on the UK docs in which case I might need to get a bit creative! Did you get the poptop that needed a bit of work you were looking at?
