  1. hi all, can anyone shed a bit of light on this engine code GC004364
i bought the engine recently and was told it was 2.0 ltr from a T25 but had been used in a bay! (its got a bay engine support bar)
google search suggests it is for a 75 76 porcshe 914 but looking further into it they have 7 numbers in the code to my 6. any help would be great as i think i'm going to need a set of barrels/pistons and the usual gaskets but need to know which engine to order for. are the bits interchangeable with other 2.0ltr engines? cheers

  2. If it's a 2ltr from a 914 it will have engine number at the rear of the engine and 3 bolt manifolds/heads ..= very valuable

  3. yes it has 3 bolt manifold heads, i can not see a engine number on the back (need to take another look), it has on the sump below oil filter area 004.101.101A and 004.101.1002A the opposite side!

  4. Should be on top of the case at an angle ,flywheel end . Dip stick set up is also different and so is oil fillet .

Paul is your man @Paul Weeding

Quite a sort after engine especially the heads

  5. He's on the money... the engine number is stamped on the case at a 45° angle just behind the breather tower...

Or just having a look, it can be stamped in the same place as where it is on a std bay type 4, and be on the fan side of the breather tower!!
