Emissions

  1. MOT paperwork came back and whilst it is a pass I want to sort my emissions out.

    CO was 4.5% of 4.5%
    HC was 115 of 1250

So what do I need to do?

  2. Fit a cat ;)

    Engine size/spec?

Try as I may, I can't remember what everyone has

  3. Tut why not paul!!

And don't laugh it used to have a cat!!

Anyway sorry completely forgot that bit, 2.0 l fuel injection 1979. EGR removed and no cat anymore, also never had an o2 sensor.

Electronic points. Newly cleaned/serviced fuel injectors, 18 month old fuel...oops. (Fresh tank once MOT sorted on Thursday)

Was going to do a quick compression test and timing check to make sure evrythimgs OK there to start with.

  4. Was interested to see what my emissions were at my MOT last week, but he passed it with just a visual inspection so never found out...

  5. I'll have to check what it was last time tbh and see if it is worse. I had it tweaked before leaving the States but that was before the fuel injectors were changed so it might have been compensating

  6. With the FI you can adjust the screw on the air-flow sensor on the air box... BUT... read up on the set up (the samba covers it) procedure before you start fiddling, as you could be opening a right can of worms!!

  7. Thought you might say that Paul, didn't want to go there but think I will have to. Might even have to buy a co machine.

That's running nice, a little tweak on the air flow meter will have it near perfect

First check/ change your air filter and check for air leaks , if the filter is new / clean and you have no leaks and your idle speed is correct , then get a garage to set the emmisions

    2 minute job
