Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by 72wilma, Oct 1, 2011.

  1. Excellent this could be my first outing of my home made washing drum fire pit!! :D :D If anyone has spare space chuck some logs in the more wood the merrier! ;) ;)

I have a plate that goes underneath so they wont even have any ash left when we go!! :)

  2. In true Peter Kaye fashion ... this time next week we'll be walking and exploring the dark reaches of the dales dressed as witches and ghouls >:D

hahhahhahhahahah that panicked you all didn't it?

  3. Been out today and bought the eldest some wellies and a wooly hat
I need wellies myself but i wasnt paying £55 for a pair when i dont even like wearing them

Im getting excited now and the eldest is really excited as shes never been caving before

  4. pity you can't squeeze yourself into the size 5 pink pair ;D

  5. lol cheeky

Ive just bought a pair of green ones for £11 on ebay

  6. Ok then Guys and Gals, need to firm up on who is caving so I can plan the trip. ;D Remember though that if the weather gods are not kind to us then we will need to do something else.... Don't worry though, unless we get a small monsoon then we should be able to do some caving! ;)

  7. Me and daughter for caving

  9. So...if I add up correctly, for the 4 of us and 2 dogs plus awning and hook up for the Fri + Sat it's £86?

    Ouch...but we'll make it worth it ;) ;D

  10. Yikes that does add up. It's because it's a proper campsite - if we'd got the field we wanted it would have been a lot less but the farmer didn't want to have to pull us out of the mud with his tractor. I will check the rates for you but with two teenagers and two dogs, looks like you're going to be most expensive, sorry. Let's just think of the showers and electric hookups...

  11. May be a daft question but do we need to book on the Dalesbridge website?

Also 2 more for caving please ;D

Only 5 days to go :chewie:

  12. Oh no - we've booked us all in so you just need to raid your piggy banks! We're in a special area but we'll post details later this week about how to find it and our contact numbers. You'll need some wellies for caving but Steve will PM with more details.

  13. Hels - are there likely to be many other people there? What else is on site that weekend?

The only reason I ask is that Diggy is really the scarediest bear in the world (think of as nervous a dog as you've ever seen and then double it - he's honestly THAT bad). So I'm wondering if it would be less stressful for him to stay with my walker for the weekend and we will just bring Womble. I don't usually like to split them up, but there are other dogs for Womble to play with so he won't miss Diggy as much (and frankly Diggy doesn't care if Womble is there or not!!)

I am particularly concerned about fireworks, as they have already started around here, and if one goes off he really needs his *safe* place to hide.

  14. Hi lovey. We are in a special area for just us and the campsite is in the middle of nowhere so it should be v quiet (apart from us). There may be others camped in another area and I suspect fireworks won't be allowed but let me check.

Diggy can hide with scaredy cat Bramble if he needs someone to hold his paw!

  15. Púca's a coward when there's fireworks too :)

  16.
  17. Im in for the caving! ;D ;D Shell and the boys will be going for the walk!

Any dogs need a friend we will warn you Florence is comming and she just Luuuuuuuuurves everything!! ::) ::)

Do we need to bring anything to help with the Friday catering at all? crusty bread etc?

  18. Crusty bread won't go amiss, I'm making a big chunky Italian veg soup (cavalo nero) and bring some home made chutney and probably some loverly Lancashire and there will be enough for about 6 (or 4 very hungry people).

Julie bought her body weight in chestnuts today and I'll dig out the chestnut pan and bring salt so we can eat roasted chestnuts off the fire ... :food:

We've been planning a mulled cider too, so we're going to have to experiment this week with the recipe :beer_yum: just to make sure it's good enough for you ;)

  19. I love chesnuts mmmmmmmmmmmm i want to try nuts from the monkey puzzle tree after watching hugh last night

Can i ask if the food being provided on fri night has any bell peppers or chillie peppers in it?

Im allergic thats all and its no problem me feeding ourselves the first night if so

  20. Rick, you can have a can of my bacon grill ;)

I'm gonna have to up my game here - you lot are just putting me to shame. Need to get reading my camping cook books!

Dubweiser & Mrsmc219 looking forward to meeting you all :praise:
