DK coded gearbox?

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Lardy, Aug 13, 2014.

  1. Anybody know if a DK coded gearbox would fit a T2 bus?
    Thanks in advance :)

  2. Dk has the gear linkage on the side does it not, its a t25 box !!! I think

  3. Apparently early 25 boxes fit, says @Paul Weeding and @zed , I have the number off it now and it's 091 301 173A
As far as I can work out it's just a matter of changing over the nose cones.

  4. Yeah, that's an early box

  5. Where's the gearchange lever then Paul?
Is it just a case of changing the nose cone over from my gearbox?

Edit.... Gearchange lever would be on my nose cone derrrrrrr!
What I was looking for was the clutch cable lever on the side at the back, couldn't see it.

  6. Hydro clutch on a T25 ;)

  7. How does that affect what I want to do Paul?

    Your clutch is cable operated...

  9. Ok, so I guess this is no good then and can't be adapted?

It can, but it's more stuff to do. It might be worth it if you're up for re-engineering your clutch operation.

  11. Could he not swap the bell house off his old gear box as well this giving him clutch leaver @zed ?? Just interested as i know where 1 of these gearboxes r !!

  12. You need to change the nose cone and bell housing over for the T2 gear selection and clutch operation. Don't let that stop you though as they're both relatively easy jobs to do
    :)

I don't know the answer to this, but do they have the tapped holes to fit the bracket for the flexi conduit?

  16. I never thought of this bud iv changed a bell house but that was it the bracket stayed on place

  17. Are you on about the clutch conduit?

  18. Good call, may need tapping, let me know the cast number for the case and I'll let you know of it's the same as my bay box
    :)

  19. The only number I have fella is 091 301 173A

  20. Is that on the main casing? I'll check mine tomorrow, we have biblical flash flood rain here right now. :(
