Dizzy advice on a 1600 sp

The 30 /31 is single port carb, but I expect the vacuum is caused by the inlet port size

 

Did you manage to find a single port dizzy davidoft?

 

I think it's a 1500 one, I'll check the numbers

Failing that do you know the correct number dizzy I should have in mine?

Did you look at the application chart I linked to earlier?

I wouldn’t get too hung up about what VW may have fitted to your engine for the fuel that was available at that time, how current fuel burns is not the same so whatever advance curve VW originally choose is not necessarily correct today. But any vacuum advance distributor will be better than a 009.
