Might be talking out of my arse too... In the dell superformance book it says to never attach the linkage to the rear of the carbs. This may be why you don't get full throttle? But saying that it only covers hex bar
I think he said earlier they are on 'backwards' so they are pulling correctly. This must be something to do with the way the bell crank works i guess
Sorry I misread your post. Any imput greatly recieved tbh. If it ever stops raining I will look at re-routing the cable and see if my theory is correct failing that I may look at using a geared pulley on the cable before the throttle to amplify the movement. Shouldnt be too difficult and I may have some parts that may achieve this. If anyone else has the same set up currently then i would be very happy to hear from them. I get your gist but the issue is the ratio of cable travel to pulley rotation an I either need rore cable being pulled or a larger diameter pulley in my mind. the distance travelled by the rods wont change repardless of length (I think????)
I read that too. The linkages havent been put on the other end of the carbs they are just on opposite sides to yours!
My bell crank pushes the throttles open. Don't suppose that would sort it? To me it looks like the linkages are too short unless there's a lot of thread still to unwind.
Thats helpful!! not sure how extending the rods increases the travel but the cable location is better!
Good call and good reference @lhu1281 - relocated cable and although i do need to put a new one in and will probably fit a new cable outer its made a difference. Posted on other thread by accident.
@Dicky...remember that heater element stuff you acquired...the stuff used for pre-heating rocket fuel, or whatever it was??? Can you remember from whence it came?
that would do it. I blagged the heaters from engineering at Uni as they were surplus to some research. You got a use for some?
Do you think owners of a pair of Dellortos are actually the beginnings of a superior race? I've noticed that most of us are considerably better-looking than mere mortals. Just a thought...
