  1. they told me they couldn't deliver to my work address as it was not my account, I would have to get the sender to change it which would take 24 hours so would be Thursday..........I don't work Thursdays so will be at home, magic roundabout anyone!!

  3. We have problems with couriers because we live on a very long Roman road, so there are several houses at different points on this road with the same house number. There's a little old lady at the same house number as us about 3 miles away who must be getting a bit narked at all the attempted parcel deliveries and tradespeople. They swear that they're just following the sat nav, but to be honest it's not rocket science to read the address properly, we're in a different county!!

To be honest I get fed up with courier services too, especially if they refuse to leave in a safe place as I'm out at work all day on weekdays... at least with Royal Mail I can just go down to the sorting office at 7 in the morning on my way to work and pick stuff up.
But. Having spent the winter months delivering trees to people, I can honestly say that it's no fun searching for customers houses, crawling along the road at 5 mph looking at every single house name or number if the sat nav isn't particularly specific. And whilst I know this doesn't apply to most people, if your house has a name rather than a number: put a sign on the gate post and make it clear!! If it's in tiny writing, an obscure script, or 20 yards up the drive by the front door, I won't be able to see it! You would not believe the number of people who, when I eventually find them or phone them for directions in desperation, say "oh no, we don't have a name board" or "everyone round here knows this is bluebell cottage". Well i don't!!!!
I know couriers are frustrating, and some seem to be just lazy, but if there's an option to give 'additional delivery instructions' when you place an order - fill it in, tell em you live opposite the post box, or next to the bright pink house. You may think your house is easy to find, but to a stranger with a long delivery run and not enough time to do it,!t might not be.
As I say though, I get equally pee'd off with hermes and yodel and DPD etc

  5. I dont understand how people dont hear them :D ours hit the bell about a hundred times n nearly push it through the door frame , its not quite a ding dong avon calling :D

  6. I am retired and most of my neighbours are out working all day so I take in their deliveries. The drivers are always in a hurry but some ask about my van. They are usually Polish, Czech or more recently one was Iraqi and another was Syrian.

  7. Wendy, just out of interest is it from JK? I order alot of stuff from them and they usually leave the parcels in an agreed safe place and i've not had a problem. If you can change the delivery address i am in all day tomorrow putting my engine back in, i'm only just down the road from you.
