Good news is I have sourced the seat base in original material in ok condition (£400 though). Hopefully I can recoup that from the base I have. Thank you for your help everyone, advice and guidance has been very much appreciated.
Yes it was. Knew it was going to be pricey,but needs must with wanting the kids to travel in the back. Ill see what I can recoup from the seat. Might see if I can make the upholstery fit the new seat in some way.
For your advert on the SSVC mate, its called an early flat back base, a hump seat is a different later type
