Well the number of cases is flattening apparently and this will happen before the number of deaths decreases.

It should to as there is s period from catching it, to it potentially killing you of X days....so one should lead to the other.

I’m still concerned by the modelling we are being told.

If more tests are being administered, yet the cases are shrinking, then actually they are falling far far faster than is obvious if the member of cases is an absolute figure.

    Also, these mega hospitals.

They are being built so that when lockdown is gradually reduced, they can cope with more cases.

We need better protection for frontline, and better support.....we also need some form of hospice like admin as doctors and nurses telling the families of tens of people each day that their loved ones haven’t made it must be massively massively damaging to those workers, and unsustainable.

It looks like we are in this until a cure or something that stops people needing intensive care is widely available.

I think also, judging from what's happened here in Italy, there will be different 'peaks' of numbers at various times as those who caught it 2weeks previous show up.

I think the only reason there are more tests being administered is that there are more people with symptoms worthy of a test. Telegraph says 73,758 positive tests and 8,958 deaths - 12% mortality. I conclude we're testing as few people as possible, only those sick enough to be admitted to hospital? I hope that's the case!
The UK must be short of test kits?

  6. We bought loads, but they didn’t work, so they’re sending them back. Fortunately, Matt Hancock kept the receipt.

  7. But has he handled it in the correct manor?

  8. I believe he swapped them for 10,000 pangolin ready meals.

  10. Agree to a certain extent but , as pointed out above , the figures are totally flawed due to the numbers tested increasing against the number of deaths recorded.
As we all know our political masters of whatever party are well versed in telling the great unwashed only what 'we' need to know which is seldom the truth ....

  11. A friend who was at my old bowls clubs wife died of it this week . A nicer person you could not wish to meet :(

  12. Sorry to hear that Barn , no-one is safe .
Lady Lasty has a doctor friend who caught it about 2 weeks ago - luckily she seems to be on the mend but I think at some point, directly or indirectly we'll all be touched by Corona .

  13. Fran got a letter from our GP saying she's likely to get severe symptoms instead of mild ones so has been talking to her parents this afternoon and they've decided she's going to move in with them for the next 12 weeks leaving me at home so i can still go out shopping and walking the dogs. Her parents still go out shopping and walking their dogs so i have no idea what difference it'll make.
I don't do well being on my own as my anxiety plays nasty tricks on me so we'll see how this plays out.

  16. I get anxious being out with the dogs on my own as its so quite at the moment or working in the garage. :(

Her parents are only a couple of miles away. I just can't see the difference it'll make apart from she'll have her own en suite.

Did Matt Hancock genuinely say he thinks some NHS are wasting their PPE.

Tell me I heard that wrong.
