Confirmation of Historic Vehicle status

Do you get any? Sent my stuff off to the DVLA with VW birth certificate (build date before date of registration), got new V5C today, but no indication of whether the van's been registered as historic.

Do you get any confirmation? Will it be on the tax reminder?

when i registered my '77 honda 400/4 as historic, i got a letter from dvlc confirming it and a new v5c showing 'historic' against the 'taxation class'

 

I'm sure it was on the reminder when I did mine...

 

Gah. Still Private/Light goods on mine. I'll have to give them a call.

 

On my V5C it shows Taxation class as HISTORIC VEHICLE

 

They've cocked up

Got the certificate back, but obviously threw my MOT certificate in the bin.

When i got my bus the Po gave me the docs still in his name he told me to take it to the post office and they would change the class to historic.
So thats what i did and the nice lady in the post office changed it then sent it off and it came back like this

Can't do it at the Post Office if the (valid) build date is before the date of registration. Have to send your docs to the DVLA, who will then throw them in the bin (see above).

 

when i sent mine to dvla, they just sent a new v5 just the same as the old one, only when i went to tax it at the post office they checked it on their system
and then they sent it off and i got another new v5 then with historic on it.

 

Waste of money sending the first one, but you need to take it to the post office to tax, then everything will be good.
mine was showing as reg date 1979 but was born in 1977, it still doesnt show that on the v5, but it is on the dvla system
