Have a look at the ends of the valve stems and replace if they're dished. Depending on your outlook and spare cash, replace all the exhaust valves anyway. Inlets should be in better condition.

    Piston rings
New adjusters on the rocker arms (you will thank yourself next time you set the gaps under the van :) )

Keep your "old" adjusters. New ones I've had over the last decade have been made of cheese with hopelessly slack threads, making adjustment hard, not to mention peening over on contact points sending small chips of steel into your engine. Old ones every time for me.

  13. I guess thats the newer of the 2 heads as it looks aftermarket ?

Maybe its me or the camera angle but the valves look bigger in the other head ??

  14. If you're doing the rings check condition of bores and get 'em honed if within spec.

  15. IMG_0643.JPG I've since noticed two big chips out the side of two of the barrels :( , I'm thinking the just Kampers top end rebuild kit ? By the time I've bought new valves /guides , rings , Pistons / barrels , its prob les faf doing the lot , ,

  16. That bit of fin damage wont make any difference, do the guides have wear ?

  17. i don't know I'm waiting for a spring compressor so I can take em out
