Compression down on no 2

  1. Keep an eye on no.2 valves though. ie. check again in 500 miles to see if it has tightened up again.
    Idle speed increasing on its own suggests air leak, which can lead to lean/hot running which can lead to valve stretch or seat recession which = valve adjustment!!

    I'm normally an optimist :)
     
  2. Cheers mate. Idle issue was dead simple - stiff linkage effectively. Some popping just off idle - detonation through carbs - could be valves. we'll see. Will do as you say with checking gaps.
