Compression after rebuild.

  1. True, but then you have to order them and wait....you get about twenty out of one sheet...will I need twenty? possibly not....but come the revolution.....;)

    I had a single pot replaced in a emergency in southern Italy once. It was well down on compression for 300 miles. Then it just fell into line. Probably in Como. The rings just had to bed in. I sold it with that pot still in about 30k miles later.

  11. have you checked that you haven't got a blocked main jet or something?? does it rev okay (or better) from stone cold. if it does then maybe you do have an air leak... The fact that it's getting hot would suggest lean mix
     
  12. 2mm...provides a certain amount of compression....you can go thicker on the carb base to inlets if you wish....if using a spacer on a single carb, you can use a thin smearing of grease on either side, so the gasket's don't stick
