My dash erupts cold air from the vents (the long thin ones) probably due to the seal being absent from the flaps on the front, is it possible to acess the slots to block them from inside the van?

  2. Stuff in some old socks...

I'll send you some, just taken a pair off after a long day at work :)

i have in the circular ones - i mean the top ones on the dash.

  4. It would most likely be easier to remove the grill and stuff something in from the front - getting to the back of the dash is more hassle I would say

It's only 6 screws to pull the front grille off and you can access the flaps directly

  6. I thought they were connected to the heater totem pole.... ? Probably wrong,

But they can be disconnected from below and blocked, or remove the vent from above and block..

yeah i know, i just wondered if it was accesable from the top of the dash - didn't know if the vent has a cover i ccould prise off and block, no worries i'll put some sealer round the flaps then.

the circular ones (hot) are connected to the totem - the long thin i guess are to the front flaps

  9. buy a bra, with no vent

  10. Or just buy a bra. Why not?

  11. Is this any help... [IMG]

It's a combination, the flaps allow fresh air into the cab and its directed to the 2 round ones and the 2 side dash top ones and the totem directs hot air to your feet or the 2 centre dash top vents. I think

  13. Only the centre dash top vents should blow hot if stock. The long slitty vents and the directional ones at each end of dash are cold air - they are tee'd off each other.

  14. why block them up, I find that having them combined with the heating makes for a well regulated cabin (in the summer).

  15. I'll get a chair, this is sounding like an interesting discussion

  16. I just put some p strip from screw fix around the flap. Seals lovely when shut.

mine are blocked with the silver insulation material - gaffa taped around the edges - a PO botch(as is the front panel) but it works for now!

  18. Whip your front grille off and either fix the seals or bung the whole lot up with gaffer tape!

I was looking at this yesterday, but mines a bit crusty inside and I don't thing tape would stay on long. Then I thought a self tapper or 2 to pull them shut, but there's nowhere to get one in. :( I just don't want mine at all.

rickyrooo1 I think you have a shelf, but if not you can unscrew a plate at each side just above the kick panels and stuff your socks in there - that should stop air getting out of any of the cold vents.

i don't have a shelf and i agree a tape up behind the grille will not stay in, i thought about cutting a piece of perspex and putting it behind the vent then if we get a summer i could remove it...
