  11. Down here in Somerset, the local C0-op in Crewkerne is situated between Waitrose and Lidl which are always busy.
    In the co-op they dont have enough customers to have a person on the till full time.

    I can't remember our number but we used to shop at the Co Op in Nicholson Street in Edinburgh

    I grew up in Cardiff and don't remember this Co op thing...?

    But then mumma and popsy shopped only at Waitrose and slummed it at Sainsburys if desperate.

    Was the Co op really owned by lots of working class people?

    How quaint!

    So what does that mean for those people should it go under - are there ramifications other than the closure of the shops (I thought the banking arm was separate to the retail part?)

  19. unlike other financial establishments, the co operative bank plc had the foresight to ensure that any current and depeosit account holders would not loose any of their savings, in the event of collapse, nor would 'the tax payer' be called upon to bail them out....
