I've tried after market rocker covers (although not these actual ones) and they leaked like hell. Same with after market bales.
I went back to stock rocker covers and stock bales and they've not leaked since.

  2. You might want to try bolt-up rocker covers - bit more bling, but some friends of mine have them, and say they leak less than the standard ones.

  3. Save your money & get boggo black rocker covers from GSF.

  4. I tried some bling rocker covers and they leaked like a sieve so new bails and covers and all well since!

  5. save your money dude!! It's cheap Taiwanese chrome, so it'll start rusting as soon as you take the plastic off the parts!!

If you want some shiny rocker covers, splash some cash on the scat stainless ones!! Fit is spot on!! :)

  6. I'm sure its not all Taiwanese tat, some of it is probably Chinese tat

  7. can you not get original ones stripped and chrome dipped? no leak issues and chromed like you like?

  8. chrome engine tins are a big no no in my book!! I'm pretty sure that I read some info a while back that stated that chrome holds in 40% more heat than just straight black tins!!

  9. bloody hell! really?

  10. Well the engine should still cool the same, but the engine will stay hotter for longer after the engine is switched off!!

  11. Yes keep them black - standard cover and preserve your engine. It wont look cool broken down from no oil or overheating! Hahaha

  12. thats settled it then with regards the rocker covers :D black or stainless it is

.....what about the other shiny bits :D

although I did wonder about the quality of the chrome!!!

  13. If you like shiny, get your tins powder coated gloss black :D

  14. I really can't see the point of a chrome kit for the engine bay, as Paul said it would end up rusting too quick. Surely some bright spark out there does a stainless steel kit?

You could get yourself a nice alloy pulley wheel instead, or maybe bling up your engine tin with some silver paint?

  15. Oh for pitys sake just put that bus of yours on the road and sort the little touches down the line

The cost of that crap chrome dress up kit would give you and the family a day out in your bus

The wife and kids will love it and its a shakedown run for you to diagnose those little niggles
