anothe post asking about towing has prompted me to remember to ask .......

i have a towbar to fit , the bar has end plates that apparently fit the three holes found on the outside of the chasis rail at the rear . i have the holes in the rear on the outside of the chasis rail , mine dont appear to be threads or have captired nuts .
IS there somthing wrong , should the 3 holes be on both sides of the box section , or should i have captured bolt or whatever should i have ?

    What year bus?

Ours have captive nuts where the bumper hanger mounts up. The towbar (ours) mounts under these hangers.

    Have you got any images

Yes it should have captive nuts, M10.
To be pedantic, two in the chassis and one in the valance.

Do you mean the plates stand upright, So you would have 6 bolts on each side ?

the holes i have are vertical on the chasis, not horizontal as zeds pictures holding the bumper brackets

That looks like it needs through bolts and anti crush spacer tubes so you do not crush the chassis rails as you do it up.

  13. If your bolting through the side of the chassis then theres holes cut out on the inner side so you can get a nut and washer on

  14. only on late late bays... A 73 wouldn't have those

  15. That also means it won't have 3washers and two nuts in the chassis rails then
I'm ashamed of myself for losing them
