Changing rear crankshaft oil seal without removing engine?

  1. Question,

Is it possible to change the rear (fan end) crankshaft oil seal on a 2 litre type 4 without removing the engine? looking at where it is, if I could get a puller in there with the tinware and fan removed, it seems possible, or am I being a dumbass?

    Thanks
    Mark

  4. you need to take the tin off around the fan, undo the 3 bolts that holds the fan in and take that out... next bit is the center bolt and the large flat washer...

you'll then need to get a small puller on the fan mounting boss and draw it off as it is on a taper... once that is off, then it is just a case of replacing the seal!!
