Capt Sir Tom Moore.

  1. Think this will be my last comment on the matter. Regardless of rules, bent broken or otherwise if people don’t have enough in their noggin to realise it probably wasn’t a great idea. This leads to others looking at the actions of their betters and thinking their I’ll conceived actions are justified. Perhaps that’s a reason why we’re in the state we are!

If we don’t leave the house... we won’t get COVID. Clearly we have to so every time we do that’s the risk. Shopping, work, exercising safely..... not going on a foreign holiday on a plane and all the other risky things people do to kill themselves and others.

In respect of Tom then I’m saying is that we should have people like this wrapped up in cotton wool and not be taking chances with them. But it’s too late and I am sad for his family.

In one way, I totally agree with you. Really I do.
We should all stay in to save lives.
My point, without judgement, was that we all expire - we have to.
If no rules were broken (unlike certain other trips taken and mentioned on here), then we should not judge.
Wise, sensible, moral etc; these are all subjective terms that one is able to interpret to one's own agenda ( I appreciate 'agenda' has certain connotations).

I would suggest that we have lost a true gentleman, and that we have lost him prematurely. Whether or not he would have succumbed to flu or pneumonia in Feb / March or May is something that we will never know.

ps - 'the actions of their betters' is not a line I thought I would hear from you!

    conflicted, I am.

  6. It is indeed an uncomfortable dilemma as we are now conditioned to avoid debating difficult issues, but it is perfectly reasonable to wonder why the whole family went on the holiday. It is also reasonable to consider that the guidance for travel is also intended to protect others from the risks of travellers returning from abroad, as well as the travellers themselves.

Since when did we start believing anything written in the Express or anything that comes out of Piers Morgan’s mouth!?

  8. Piers Morgan got defensive about it because he went on holiday to Antigua over Christmas despite having called for tougher Christmas restrictions. He labelled those who criticised him, trolls.
