Can I Grind It?

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by GRINNER, May 2, 2013.

  1. While putting my replacement engine together, I have hit a problem.

My rear engine mount is touching the exhaust 4 to 1 part. Can I grind the mounts flange?

  2. Not uncommon with the crappy 4-into-1s. Yes you can/will have to grind a few mm off your backbar flange: the sticky out bits aren't doing anything.

You'd think they'd fit, but that's too much to hope for. They truely are sh*te.

Creatively jump on the 4 into 1 to bend it a bit out of the way and dont damage your nice bus by grinding bits off it.

What is worse is that the inertia of my twin quiet pack silencers hanging off the EMPI version keeps on popping the seals under the clamps on the end of the connections to the heaters or J-tubes.

Bus goes all poppy and backfiring.

    True S**te.
