Can anyone help identify this hose please?

  1. Whilst lying under the bus (as you do) I noticed this rather ropey looking pipe running from the O/S tin work, above the starter motor and heating duct work to the bottom of the petrol tank, understandably i'm a bit concerned! All the other fuel pipe has been replaced fairly recently by the look of it so i cant understand why this easy to replace piece would have been left to rot. Can anyone identify it please? Is it part of the fuel vapour system? Basically am I gonna get *******ed on by the contents of the petrol tank when i change it?
The bus is a built in '74, registered '75 cali import with the 1700 type 4 motor.
All help gladly recieved, we want to use her this weekend!
    Thanks. IMG-20130705-00034.jpg

  2. Ok, its the fuel return line back to the tank from the pressure regulator 1/2" ID apparently. I'll pick some up tomorrow and crawl back under her, good job there's not too much fuel in the tank! Fuel tank.jpg
Still puzzled as to why it wasn't changed when the rest were!

  3. It's not unusual to find things like that with fuel lines... falls into the category of "out of sight, out of mind!!"

  4. Pipe changed! Out to play tomorrow!

Amen to that. Some people have no conscience.
