Buskers...Do you pay em?

  1. There's an old boy in Bury st Eds that plays a saw and whenever you go by the tune sounds the same, I say tune I should have said noise,
And I believe the same as you that the shopkeepers pay him to move on,
    Steve,

  2. No, our charitable donations extend to cancer and hospice care charities. We donate all old clothing, shoes, coats, phones, TV's electronics etc either to charities who sell or distribute the goods, such as full house. I wouldn't encourage a street beggar of any kind, busker, statue or otherwise. There are plenty of charities who provide meals, shelter, clothing etc (probably not enough though) in order to provide some help. I wouldn't take the money I have earned and put it into the hands of a street beggar to spend in fags, drink or drugs. As the vast majority of people you see in this predicament generally tend to do one of the above I'd sooner see my donations go to causes which provide for all, as opposed to the individual.

  3. Anyone remember this when the violinist Joshua Bell played one of the most complex pieces in classical and most walked by.

  7. I used to busk when I was younger ,to be fair I was rubbish , but it was for a good cause to earn money to buy a piece of rain forest ...........and yes we did it................somewhere in all my crud is a certificate saying I own an acre, we did it so it could not be bought and destroyed. Bow got caught a goodun when we were in London, Covent Garden, he was only about 8 . This chap asked him if he would like to help out, Bow was over the moon, I watched on and a crowd quickly gathered, but the chap made Bow stand there for ages holding the juggling bats and knives.........in fact verging on child cruelty , you could see in his face it was begining to hurt.........but the busker wanted to get a good crowd. I walked in told Bow to put the battons and knives down and we walked off. Bow was so happy, the block shouted we had ruined his act ......................I had one word for him and it is connected to what you do with salad

I'll only tip if I think they're any good, I was in Dusseldorf a couple of weeks back and see a street clown/slapstick performer who entertained everyone sitting outside cafes/bars, by causing general chaos with unsuspecting members of the public just by using a whistle and a few modelling balloons. Was something different and he did well with tips at the end.
