If the outer cable is stuck in the tube when you try to remove it I found the easiest way to get it out is to use pliers or mole grips and grip the cable and just keep turning (like winding a clock). At first it doesn't seem like much happens but after a while you can hear the cable freeing itself and eventually it will come loose. It is also a lot easier than trying to use brute force.
hmmm not sure as our 73 doesnt have any at all but from memory & a brief look at the westy, just the front one covering the peddles
The outer will either come out or it won't. Only one way to find out. If it snaps inside the conduit it's game over and time to zip it on the outside of the conduit where it'll work just fine.
all done wealded heat exchanger ,new cable fitted, what a job but done and went through sleeve nicely. still do not understand why people do away with heating
it does make you feel like removing when you see holes and broken cables but i suppose it is a big help if you can do yourself at a low cost all wealded new cable and 2 hrs not bad,
It's worth having if only to demist the windscreen. Some work better than others mainly due to either leaks in the heating or badly fitting doors/seals.
soon as i used it i noticed the screen clearing as it was :rain: and well steamed up while doing cable, but found out faster you go hotter they get
That's right - faster the engine's going round the better - rev the nuts in third's what I do to clear the screen a bit quicker.
