First opportunity ive had to give the bus a run out with this fitted and can report it did seem to make a difference. Better response mid range and better able to hold revs climbing hills. It seems it aint just for show. Incidentally im running a weber progressive and the "flat spot" seemed less of an issue.
Is it the twin pipe one you have?? Have one in at the moment with the twin pipe. Sounds great. Not loud or obtrusive. And looks good too.
Is this the Single tailpipe version? http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_act_pa...tartRow_54_startPage_3_lang_EN_country_GB.htm Could only see the twin version on Bluebirds site. I'm considering either the Bluebird or a Vintage Speed one, prefer the look of the Bluebird single tailpipe unit.
This is the single pipe BB muffler http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares...ntry_GB.htm?crumbStartPage=3&crumbStartRow=54 You'd got your link slightly wrong
I've not heard anyone complain about the BB systems... There is a purpose made dent in the back of them to clear the oil filler tube, as I've seen that pop up a few times!!
I've got a vintage speed one and I am pretty pleased with it. It has a deeper and louder sound to it that suggests that your engine is not stock if you know what I mean. a they are very nicely made too.
