Best Covers?

  1. Hi, my deepest sympathy for your loss.

I suppose it depends what you want the cover for? Is it going to be the only form of cover for your bus or is it going to be more occasional as your bus may be undercover at other times?

I have a JK one which is intended for occasional use as my bus will be in storage for the majority of the winter, so it may be used at the start and end of the summer. My concern with using this as a more permanent shelter is that it is not very substantial and the effect severe high winds could have on it and how this could effect the paintwork.

I have been considering other option and just got a quote from Covercraft.com for a cover for my '73 Westy. They range fro £214 for their Block-It 200 series to £472 for their Weathershield HP. These are shown on their web site. You seem to get what you pay for here, but if you want to protect your bus year round then it may be a sensible investment.

  2. So sorry to hear your news... that's heartbreaking...thinking about you and your family... x

I have just got a jk one as i'm pretty skint and it is better than nothing...oh and my van was leaking like mad...it went on and stopped the leaking and kept it dry so did its job IMO... just wish I had a garage that she would fit in... :) x

  3. Formby Point on sunday sounds like a plan - do you go in the National Trust bit or the other end by Shorrocks Hill Night Club?
I live 100 yds from the National Trust end at 1 Dunes Drive, you will see Bodhi parked outside probably! My son plays football on saundays at 1pm so I cant come for long

  4. I can't offer any extra advice on covers but wanted to add my voice to the best wishes every one is sending you.

I think we have a worthy place for the remaining London Xmas drink kitty. The remainder will go to a cancer charity.

  5. I wanted to wish you and the kids my sympathy .... my dad had a brain tumour last year and this brings a lot of those feelings back.

Cover - I had a JK one which I used to use a lot / but am now looking to garage the van again as as great as the covers all are - they do leave the van damp and they can be difficult to get on

  6. If anyone is interested in making a donation to help fight Brain Tumours - this charity use the funds most effectively I'm told.
