Hi all - sorry I haven't been on for a while. My wife's brain tumour came back and she passed away on the 19th Dec. Been a very tough time for the kids and I. I'm hoping to keep them all busy though over the coming year by attending as many shows/festivals as possible. Can anyone tell me who make the best covers at the moment. I'm looking for a decent cover for Bodhi. I've heard JK's are ok but I'm told someone else does a really good one albeit its more expensive. Thanks.
So sorry to hear about your loss Formbyjules. I stopped using my cover as it seemed to be keeping the van damp as after it stopped raining the van wouldnt dry off ,and when its *******ing it down its usually pretty humid so the van still gets wet.
Blimey mate sorry about the news as for covers, someone posted a few weeks ago about quality ones, (jk ones aren't waterproof) i'm sure wilma was selling a good quality one but it might have gone, someone will know the quality covers.
Actually John at 81a recommended asking Wilma! He said they don't do anything by halves and they bought quite a good one - the fact they are/were selling it though may indicate the vans are better uncovered (unless they are selling the old one because they bought a new fancy one) - thanks
the jk ones are not so great the stormforce ones @£150 are ok but maybe a little on the snug fit the Hamilton one is better still @£205 and the best is the Protec one @ £400ish I hope this year is a good one for you and your Family !
so sorry to hear your news mate, my heart goes out to you and your family. As for your question on covers, i have just bought the storm force cover for my panel van and i have to say its an excellent piece of kit. totally waterproof and breathable, does exactly what i need it to. It does not have the door pockets though, but i never needed this feature and i see them as a possible weak point in the structure. It is a good snug fit though, so it would depend on your roof style whether it would fit well or not.
here's their website mate, give a fair bit of detail on there including their number if you want to chat with them direct about your camper cover. hope it helps mate http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=16881
Not been down the covers route myself so can't add anything constructive, sorry for you & your families loss... Hope to see you at one of the meets this year tho! The Robo's...
wow rough times, cant say much that will ease your pain, but if you need friends, a laugh, or just a chat, youre in the right place, re. cover, I have a JK one and am happy with it, 99 quid and seems to be water proof, has zips to allow you to get into the doors and 2 across and 1 length ways straps to keep it on in strong winds, and has stood the test of the winter so far for ours. But which ever one you buy DO NOT OPEN THE BOX IT COMES IN, WITH A KNIFE OR SCISSORS!! Open it with care as I sliced a 3 inch slit into the bag the cover came in and crapped myself that id ripped the cover! word of warning lol O0
That's awful news, my thoughts are with you and your kids. I thought I'd throw in my tuppence worth on the topic of covers. I have the JK one and I was a bit worried that it wouldn't be up to the job after reading some unfavourable reviews but, even in the midst of a particularly dreich and sodden Scottish winter, the cover seems to be doing a great job so far. I've had the cover off on a couple of very rare dry days and I didn't notice any moisture at all.
Oh what awful news, hugs to you and your family As for covers, we had a protex cover that was great, but we sold it because Wilma is garaged and we were not using it as much as we had. Good idea getting everybody out and about this year, a group of us are meeting up at Formby point this Sunday at 12 ish at the main beach carpark for a new year walk, mostly cars but probably a few campers. Hopefully see you there!
