Anyone got one kicking about they don't need. Need it rather quick as I don't have one ya present although the wires will save it from dragging on the floor lol
I was desperate for one and just drilled a M8 clearance hole in a square of sheet steel then bent it to roughly 90deg and screwed this into the existing hole in the battery tray. Been there a few years now. Sorry no pic on my phone. Failing that euro parts sell the proper ones.
Do you need it 'sharpish' to get an MOT ? If not and you want it just so you can drive the van then, depending on what part of the country you're in, gravity can do the job just as well as a clamp. I can personally vouch for the efficacy of gravity in almost every county in England & Wales. I haven't tried a van battery in Scotand yet but @Paul Weeding should be able to tell us if it works there. I'm fairly sure it will work all over the UK. Remember Gravity is not just a good idea, it's the law.
I'm sure gravity is fine in my postcode as I have never had to use a clamp before, just seeing it flap about in there makes me nervous.
Halfords do a universal clamp for less than a fiver , http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...&productId=225569&categoryId=255205&langId=-1 two small holes and fits at a forty five degree angle
you can just see the bars on my battery here the angle piece goes across the top back edge of the battery
That's all fine and good Paul, we all know about the new MOT rule. Stop beating about the bush and tell us if gravity in Scotland works on campervan battery's? And do you think it will still work if you go Independant?
Well the fact that you are continually evading the question and changing the subject, indicates that you know Scottish gravity doesn't work on campervan battery's and you're desperately trying to hide the fact. Paul this is much to serious to hide, innocent English, Welsh and Irish folk may visit Scotland on holiday completely unaware of the 'Poor Gravitational Influence Throughout Scotland', (POOR GITS). I hope you'll be proud of yourself when the tourists return home with random bruises to their heads caused by floating battery's. Not to mention the potential injuries caused to the poor, innocent little children (God Love Them) who through no fault of their own, get caught in the middle of this, sorry and unedifying cover up.
