Balljoint or link pin narrowed beam?

  1. Can anyone give us a brief description of the pros and cons of each?

My bay project came with a brand new 4" balljoint beam, leaves and track rods that haven't been fitted yet. But I'm not sure wether to save up and get some rather expensive drop spindles or sell the beam and go for a link pin instead? From what I've read doesn't a link pin beam sit higher and allow you to go lower?

Any info would be really helpful and if you've got any pics even better ;)

    Cheers

  2. king and link also has a greater range of motion, and doesn't run out of travel like a BJ beam does...

If you want to go low, then that's the way to go!!

  3. Cheers dude!
So if I was to go the king and link route what else would I have to change/convert?
I'm not to clued up on the bus yet as you can probably tell haha

  4. Well you'd have to look at brake options, like a disc conversion from creative, as splitties only ever came with drums... other than that, I think it's almost a straight swap...

  5. king n link
    you will need
    beam
    64-67 Split Bus trailing arm
1996 on VW Brazil Spindles ( so you can run your disc brakes from your bay)
    a set of link pins
    and maybe shocks

  6.
  7. Sell the BJ one to help fund it

  8.
  9. Track rods will... but not much else..

  10. Go against the grain and lift it up

Ive seen enough slammed busses to last a lifetime but ive only seen lifted busses abroad never one in the uk

Mine when its finished will only be lifted by the size of wheels and tyres

  13. Sorry to use an old thread but is there any modifications needed to fit the K&L beam to the bus it self or will it sit where the ball joint beam sat?

    (Fitting one as well)
