it seems all vw specialists are based in the south. does anyone hear have any good contacts for vw specialists in the north west of the country, preferably south cumbria, lancashire areas. i can do lots of jobs on my vw but somethings i would rather leave to pro's. its ok if you live around birmingham everyone seems to be down there
Im not a specialist as such but ive had a fair whack of experiance with aircooled busses and other vehicles Im located just outside of northallerton in north yorkshire

i didn't realise they were? i'm sure the southern ones are promoted well - maybe the "scene" of down south cornwall surfing etc made the south an area more "popular" for these vans? there's certainly plenty in the midlands and up north (art - birmingham isn't up north) even by the stereo typical southern comments of "anything north of watford is flat caps and whippets....... the clue's in the name the MIDlands for a midlander up north doesn't start until at least crewe - this was the gateway to the north in the railway era. as we all know there is absolutely no reason to go any further south than watford because that there london (which starts there) is full of smelly foreigners and rude people.
I'm N/E... About an hour from newcastle in the Scottish borders... But yeah, there seems to be a lot less restorers up north!!
Agree Paul, simply not the scene here in any numbers ,note ;Newcastle is not in fact in the Scottish borders ,thou I did fail Geography o level
Soz RR, post says as it reads, suppose we will agree to disagree eh?(gold star in your exercise book re capital letter usage , "Eats shoots, and leaves")
I could've structured the sentence a lot better than that!! But I knew what I meant as I typed it!! Yeah the "scene" is very low key round here... for instance, I'm the only person around here that drives a mk2 golf... couldn't even tell you the last time I saw another one out and about!! The driving scene has changed a lot up here of the last 10 years... used to be a lot of classic hot hatches banging around, now everyone seems to drive cars less than 8 years old
