Any tips on installing windscreen :-(

  1. If I get the bottom any where near on, the top rubber is an inch away from the lip it has to go over, even when I pulled it all evenly with a ratchet strap the top was a cm away at the top. I spoke to an Autoglass fitter today and he said they are one of the worst to do. I'm gonna call his local depot in the morning and get them to do it.

Don't put the bottom right in, twist the top of the seal round to tilt it into the opening.
    Can't say any more. :)

  3. I found it easier putting the top in first. You get more leverage as the base of the screen is at waist height. You can do it with two people then. One holding it in position and one doing the seal-string-thing.
We used the deluxe seal with the chrome plastic trim which fits after the window is in. That may give more flexibility with the trim piece not fitted.

  4. I broke two windscreens getting mine in, gave up and asked Autoglass to do it. They turned up arrogantly confident, broke another two then the fifth went in, with four guys pressuring and leaning on it !

    Best of luck !

  5. Well Autoglass said they would do it but if they broke it, it would be tough luck as they didn't supply it. I had another go at it with a ratchet strap round it hooked on the back of the seat runners and [IMG]

Would like to thank everyone for their help and comments.

Well done that man. I didn't want to say that I had two broken just a few weeks ago, by 2 different fitters. :(

  7. Good job :)
