Im looking forward to seeing the resto though as it doesnt look like a few quick panel replacements

  3. Indeed

I got word of a localish bus sat in a barn that the barn owner wanted rid of
It was a take it away before i sell it for scrap affair

T25 panel van with seam rash so bad the panels would have fell out loading it onto a trailer

Price agreed of £50 and once id sorted transport id be back to collect it

Phoned the fella to say id be a week later with the trailer and he said ive looked on ebay and there worth a bit i want a grand for it:eek:
Last i heard its still sat there
I only wanted the front seats, runners and the engine

  4. Very true statement there Ricky. These buses have just become to cool and a retro must have. When I bought the one I have now a mates girlfriend called it shabby chic. I nearly knocked her block off.

But it also comes to supply and demand. The ones that are on the road now are in extremely good condition as people realise they should keep them on the road for as long as they can.

My old man used to drive them when he was a builder and when it got battered just picked up another and used it for parts then scrapped what was left.

He is gobsmacked when I show him how much people are paying for them now.

Even a wreck is not that cheap now, unfortunately for new (wannabe) owners the demand is greater than supply.

  5. There is a wreck a few doors down from the house I have just brought.
Its in stourbridge, haven't spoke to the owners but it looks like it needs a LOT of work.
Of your interested I don't mind popping over and asking or sending you the address.

  6. Thanks for the leads on those buses guys. It looks like there may be one or two around after all. I'm back in the uk at the end of July, so mid July I'll start bidding on eBay buses and checking out gum tree. That Stourbridge bus might be a possibility too, I'll have to chase that up nearer the time. Thanks again, and keep an eye out for unloved bays for me!

Rule number one when buying bargains, move it ASAP. Within the hour if possible

  8. Deffo as Davidoft says ,I have shoved vehicles onto road from sellers drive on> agreement of purchase< moment !also collapsed suspension on (Old) car loading a record collection into same that I had purchased .(in fact once I add the cost of the car to the price I paid for the records........Hmmm)
