aftermarket crankshaft pulleys.....

  1. Behind the pulley is a lot tidier!!

Getting a pulley custom made will cost a lot more than getting a std pulley and mounting an edis wheel to it!!

  2. Yep....my thoughts also....incidentally, have you ever come across this guy.....http://www.hamblyindustries.co.uk/shop/i701/ ?

  3. I've got one of those deluxe trigger wheels, cost me £35 new, so £90 is a hell of a mark up

  4. I didn't know you were running crank triggered....

  5. I'm not yet... it's on my to-do list along with EFI :)

  6. the dubshop has some good stuff on megasquirt, Tuner studio software etc. in the link section....
My 'to do list' keeps getting bigger....unlike my bank balance:rolleyes:

  7. I'm in that boat too!! Baby boy hasn't helped that either

  8. Amazed you find the time to do anything but catch up on sleep:eek:
Mind you, if you've got loads of time on your hands, you tend to prevaricate (I know I do), and if you know you're pushed for time, you tend to make the most of it....
just wait 'till he's hiding your spanners and playing with the angle grinder....;)

  9.

He's pretty good for sleeping most of the night... feed time seems to vary at the moment... half 3, half 4 or half 5... or he sleeps right through to 8am

  10. Thanks Paul....I''ve had a chat with this guy and he reckons using a ring trigger on the back of a steel pulley may not create a strong enough signal. I beg to differ if the teeth extend far enough beyond the inner face of the pulley and the sensor's positioned correctly, but I've never done any bench testing....besides which @lhu1281 has very kindly offered to do the pulley mod, on account of he likes messing:D....and up to a point, so do I, but I reckon a engineering machinist will do an infinitely better job than I'd be capable of, with a vice and black and decker....think I'll try the drilled pulley and upright sensor, as I've got the bits, apart from a suitable bracket....if it doesn't work well, I'll look at buying an alloy pulley and going 'the hidden route' (makes it sound so much more exciting)

  12. I had megajolt lite on my mini and the pulley I used was with the teeth outwards, the opposite way to in the eBay link

  13. I've seen a few aircooled with the external wheels on...probably a lot less faff to set up.....how did you rate the Lite Jr?

  14. Just working on the Type 4 crank trigger

    24-1 solid steel

  15. You've kept that quiet @Paul H ;) I like the bracket design....plenty of scope for positioning....is the wheel from scratch or a machined pulley?

  16. It's machined from solid steel- best way to get the thing accurately centralised on the hub.I think the fan and housing will go over it all without much trouble or I may have some pulleys made for the upright cooling stuff

    et voila
