She didn't do much wallowing in the end - YC spent all afternoon on the ale - early bed for YC tonight.

 

That's that Dent brewery - she's turned away from the gin

 

By "ale" I mean wine, cocktails and gin (and that's just the ones I could understand through her inebriated drawl) - meanwhile I was hard at work at the coal face of software development

 

There was no ale. There was hoever 3 bottles of Cloudy Bay, 3 gins and 6 cocktails. One is very much happier than one was earlier

(one also had to type that sentence several times to correct spelling errors)

 

hARD at work my ass Paley you were wandering the streets trying to follow our (very clear) directions to the cocktail bar

 

And one came home with a litre bottle of gin


Engine, what engine?

Have you got a hatch above the engine bay? If so, open it, stand a couple of slaves in the engine bay, get them to propel you along, Flintstones styleeeeeee.

 

I'll only say this once,,,flickering oil light, no go

 

I've only done 500 on mine an worry about how long it will last!!

 

Well Lazy Andy you're 400 miles up on me fella so I'd smile if I were you

 

True, I've been nervous about draining the oil for its 500 mile service just in case I find something I don't want to!! :/

 

That sucks , after all the build up and exciment of getting it sorted ,we had a valve seat go after 500 miles and then again out of warrenty .

 

feel for you Zoe - but keep the faith (and the gin ).

Sorry to hear about this and I hope the mechanic can get you back on the road sooner rather than later. I shall raise a glass to help you wallow

 

So latest update on the engine.

It wasn't a valve, it was the cam follower that failed. Happily it hasn't done too much damage, so after a fingertip check of all the casing, rechecking all the measurements etc etc we are awaiting a new camshaft to be delivered and will then be putting everything back together next week. Whoop!
