AA or RAC?

  1. I am with the RAC and broke down in stockton 3 weeks ago in my work van, was told they will be with me within 2 hours, 4 hours later they arrived.
Due to there lateness in getting to me i had to get the repairs done in stockton and hadf to get a B&B.

Note to self AA next time.

  2. the last AA man that came out for me asked of the puddle under the back end had leaked out of my engine

  3. i am with rac £6 a month been with them for 4 yrs 1st year used them 6 times and longest i waited was 45mins one towed me to bug jam and said if cant get fixed phone up say u had it fixed and problem happened again good tip if ask me broke down in my focus last month on way to work guy was there in 10mins still made work on time

  4. HiC have a pay extra thing which is classic breakdown, upto 3000 pounds roadside repairs/or take home. Cost me 50 quid

I specifically stated it needs to be the top notch cover like i had with RAC, they assured me it is, paperwork seems all correct and says the right things

Elephant.co.uk do the same thing, worth asking your insurance company

  5. Have been with RAC for approx, we currenlty have a family membership which my son gets great value from as his old banger always seems to ned some attention. We've always found the RAC to be very effiecient and helpful.

However we also have AA cover for Ruby (as it is part of the insurance cover), thankfully have only needed to use it once but AA were also very good on that occasiion.

Sorry this post prpbably has not been much help, must be something to do with being a libran - always seeing both sides or as my husband says I must have spinters in my ass from sitting on the fence. ;)

  6. Take a look at Gem

  7. I'm with Auto Aid. They are one of the pay and claim breakdown schemes. Seems to be a lot cheaper, but you do have to normaly carry means of paying for a breakdown truck and then claim back from them. I haven't had to use them yet (touch wood) but i've heard about others that have on another forum and nobody seems to have had an issue with them. :)

Not knocking either AA or RAC, i've used both in the past and both have been fine!
